Warm Thanksgiving Recipes for Cozy Gathering

Warm Thanksgiving Recipes for Cozy Gathering

Thanksgiving brings us together in a spirit of gratitude and warmth. We’re sharing two comforting dishes—a golden roasted turkey and a beautifully crisp apple pie—simple yet impressive dishes that will make your celebration truly special. These recipes are designed to fill your home with aroma and your table with joy. Whether you're preparing with your Morphy Richards kitchen partners or cooking alongside loved ones, let’s create heartfelt moments together.

Golden Roasted Turkey

A classic centerpiece that’s crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of rich holiday flavor.

Method

1. First, brine the turkey overnight in a salt and sugar water solution. After rinsing, pat it dry thoroughly.

2. Mix softened butter with herbs and minced garlic, then rub this mixture evenly over the turkey skin.

3. Fill the cavity with apples, onions, and celery, then tie the legs together with kitchen twine.

4. Preheat the Electric Oven to 356°F, roast the turkey for 30 minutes until the skin starts to brown. Then reduce the temperature to 325°F and continue roasting for about 3 hours, basting occasionally with pan juices.

5. Follow these steps, and you’ll get a crispy, tender roast turkey!

Ingredients

1 whole turkey

1 cup salt, 1/2 cup sugar

 1 cup softened butter

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 tsp each fresh parsley, sage, rosemary

1 apple, 1 onion (quartered)

2 celery stalks

Pro tip: brining helps the turkey retain moisture for exceptional juiciness, and letting it rest before carving is crucial for tender meat!

Crispy Apple Pie

A cozy, comforting classic with warm cinnamon and buttery flaky crust—perfect for the season.

Method

1. First, make the pastry dough by mixing the flour and salt, then rubbing in the cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water to form a dough.

2. For the filling, toss sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Preheat the Electric Oven to 347°F.

3. Roll out most of the dough to line a greased pie dish. Add the filling, then weave the remaining dough into a lattice over the top, seal the edges, and brush the lattice with the egg yolk beaten with a little water.

4. Finally, bake on the middle rack for 35-45 minutes until golden and bubbly, then let it cool for one hour before serving.

Ingredients

 2 apples

 125g flour

 1 tsp salt

 55g unsalted cold butter (cubed)

 2-3 tbsp ice-cold water

 2 tsp granulated sugar

 1 tsp ground cinnamon

 1 tsp lemon juice

 1 egg yolk

Pro tip: soaking the apples in water helps the apple rose pastries retain a perfect shape in the end!
